Best Photo
Over the past year, this photo really caught my eye. I think it is one of my best photos because it was a candid. I love the way the light reflects on the water as well as his face. The photo was taken during golden hour which helped capture the natural shadows. They also helped define specific details which improve the photos composition. I also used the rule of thirds when taking this photo due to how he is centered in the photo. The top third is dedicated to the sky and the bottom third is dedicated to the water and boardwalk railing. And finally, I used portrait mode on my iPhone which focused on him, blurring the background.

Playing with light
I took the second photo during golden hour. The light I photographed originated from the sunset, which was directly behind him. I chose to put the light behind him in this photo because it defines the outline of his body clearly creating positive and negative space. I also used the rule of thirds by centering him in the middle of the photo with the battleship in the top third and the railing in the bottom third. The shadows that accompanied the light was his body, because the whole thing is a shadow. This photo creates a comforting mood.

Mirrors & Reflections
- The location of all my reflection photos were taken at the school; in the front as well as in the courtyard
- I used nature to create the composition of my photos while positioning them in a way that reflected the plant life and sky.
- In the bottom left corner photo it was unexpected that I was able to completely capture the sky In the mirror which caused an illusion of his head being missing
- The setting of green grass or a blue sky creates a contrast between the different settings. Such as in the bottom left photo, the green and blue play off each other as the mirror reflects the sky while I photographed the grass
- My photos are playful with the use of brighter colors, as well as confusing because they cause a slight illusion
- The concept of my reflection photos are to portray a mystery. My goal was to create a picture pleasing to the eye while making the viewer wonder as to who holds the mirror or how the photo was taken.
- I was able to blur the line between illusion and reality by photographing the mirror in front of their faces, in order to make it seem as if it isn't even there.
- Guillaume Amat most influenced my photos. I played off his idea of using nature and green grass to reflect the sky, creating an illusion
Cyanotype
Step 1 : I selected one of my photos with strong contrast
Step 2 : I then converted the image to black and white and adjusted the levels of the photo to get a proper exposure
Step 3 : Inverting the image
Step 4 : Print the photo onto transparency paper
Step 5 : Painted a light sensitive emulsion onto water color paper
Step 6 : Negative + plexi glass + emulsion
Step 7 : I laid the three layers in the sun for 12 minutes and kept away from shadows
Step 8 : I then rinsed the paper under water for about 5 minutes
Step 9 : Finally, i placed the paper into hydrogen peroxide for a minute to darken colors and then left to dry
